About Me

"So far, I have trained more than 700 dogs of multiple breeds..."

My name is Meera Thosar, and I'm a professional Dog Trainer and Behaviourist.

I started training in 2006 and started a boarding kennel in 2011. I have trained under Shirin Merchant (Canines Can Care, Mumbai) and under John Rogerson (Northern Centre for Canine Training and Behaviour, UK).

I've trained over 700 dogs so far, including Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, Boxers, Rottweilers, Dobermans, German Shepherds, Lhasa Apsos, Beagles, Bull Mastiffs, Cocker Spaniels, Pugs, Great Danes, English Bull Dogs, Iris Setters, St. Bernards, Boston Terriers, and a variety of Mongrel pets.

Practical Training Exercises and Concepts, Explosives Detection, Hearing and Guide Dog Handling, Competitive Obedience Training, and Tracking are some of the other skills I excel at. Besides those, the following are some of my significant expertise:

CSI (Crime Scene investigation):

Very recently, I have had training in Crime Scene investigation, which covered Explosives and Cadaver Detection, Tracking, Search and Rescue and Evidence gathering.

Police Consultant:

Undertaking Training Workshops in 2009-2010 for the Maharashtra Police Dog Squad Trainers, Pune Base and CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), Pune District.

Veterinarian Assistant:

Since 2000, I've worked as a Veterinary Assistant for Pune's well-known Veterinary Surgeon, Dr Milind Hatekar. I've been doing it for ten years and have developed abilities in dealing with critically ill animals by assisting in a range of procedures and treatments.

Snake Park Team:

I worked at the Pune Snake Park from 1998 to 2012. It was the first time I had the chance to work closely with both domestic and wild creatures, including reptiles. Even today, I work with the Snake Park as a Rescue Team member.
